Shootup Media research reports study how businesses appear in Google search and in AI assistants, and how they use digital marketing, starting with Jharkhand and India. Every report follows the same method: a clearly defined sample, data collected from public sources or consenting participants, a documented measurement process, a second check before publication and a plain statement of limitations. No report is published until its data is complete and verified, and no figures are simulated or estimated without saying so.
What our marketing research covers
- Search visibility: whether businesses in a city or sector appear in Google results and maps for the searches their customers use.
- AI visibility: whether AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI features mention businesses, describe them accurately and cite their websites.
- Digital marketing adoption: how businesses use websites, Google Business Profiles, social media, reviews and advertising.
- Website basics: public signals such as mobile usability, HTTPS, page speed and clear contact information.
How each research report is built
- Define the question: each report starts with one specific question, such as how Ranchi businesses appear in Google search.
- Define the sample: we state which businesses, sectors, locations and time period are included, and how they were selected.
- Collect the data: from publicly available sources such as search results, business listings and websites, or from surveys of businesses that agree to take part.
- Measure consistently: every item in the sample is checked with the same criteria, tools and date range, which are documented in the report.
- Verify: a second person re-checks a portion of the data, and unusual results are investigated before inclusion.
- Analyse and publish: findings are reported with sample sizes, dates and limitations, in plain language.
How AI visibility is measured
AI answers vary between sessions, wording and location, so a single test is not reliable. Our AI visibility research uses a fixed list of prompts written the way real customers ask questions. Each prompt is run across several assistants within a defined period, and for each answer we record whether a business is mentioned, whether the description is accurate and which sources are cited. Reports state the prompts, assistants, dates and location settings used, so others can repeat the test.
Data standards and ethics
- Real data only: nothing is invented or simulated. Estimates, if any are needed, are labelled clearly with the method used.
- Privacy: reports present business-level or aggregated findings and do not publish personal data about individuals, in line with India’s data protection law.
- Consent for surveys: survey participants are told how their answers will be used and can choose to remain anonymous.
- Fair presentation: we do not single out individual businesses negatively without good reason, and we correct errors when they are reported.
- Independence: findings are reported as they are, including results that do not favour any marketing approach.
Limitations to keep in mind
- Search results and AI answers change over time, so findings describe the period studied, not a permanent state.
- Results can differ by device, location and personalisation settings.
- Samples focused on Jharkhand or a particular sector may not represent all of India.
- Public data shows what is visible online, not a business’s full marketing activity or results.
